A Typical Fan and Some Ramble
Yesterday one of the guys at my school referred to me as "the typical football fan, who knows nothing about the sport." The comment really upset me because football is the one thing that I really love, and I like to think that I'm more than just a common fan who thinks that Cristiano Ronaldo is pretty. I asked him why he thought I was a typical fan, and he told me it's because I like the big clubs and the good national teams that almost everyone supports.

Both things are true, the two of the three clubs that I really like, Manchester United and Liverpool are one of the most popular football clubs on this planet. However, I don't think that the reason I started liking them has anything to do with their popularity. I started liking Manchester United because of Berbatov and because on that faithful Champions League match day last year the game which ESPN decided to show was United, and I started following all their games. I started supporting Liverpool because of Torres and because I think he is one of the best, if not the best, strikers in the world and he is a joy to watch. I don't follow any of these teams just because they are good and I expect them to win, but because I actually like the teams.
Then he started talking about how I support NT which I have no reason to support, like Spain, Brazil, England and Germany. I support these teams because some of my favorite players play for them and I would love to see them win the greatest trophy in football. I don't have to be Spanish to like their team, if I only had to support Bulgaria in the World Cup, well then I should just not watch it at all.
Then, of course, there are the players. Apparently I like all the regular players, like Messi, Torres, Kaka and Rooney and no one original. I don't really understand what's wrong with liking players which are currently the best in the world. Everyone knows about them, and some people might even think they are overrated, but they are still good and no one ca deny that. I enjoy watching players and teams which play good football, I guess that's typical of any football fan.
Anyway, on a completely different note, the Devils are back on top again. I'm not celebrating yet, because it's too early and they haven't been playing as well as they should be and Rooney is still injured. However, Berbatov is a genius. I don't understand people continue to criticize him, when that man leaves everything on the pitch, he is just so good. If I can't celebrate United's win, I can definitely celebrate Chelsea's loss. I am completely loving Aston Villa right now. They are playing great football and they are doing really well, but they better not try to pull an upset on my Mans. Liverpool were horrendous. I think that's all that I can say, but I guess there was lots of luck that contributed to their loss, but they are definitely lost without Gerrard and Torres.
Real Madrid did not perform as well as they should have against Valladolid as I thought they would. Their defense was really sloppy and Casillas made several mistakes that could have ended up very badly. But even though they can't defend they definitely know how to score. But Kaka refused to show us some abs at the end when he took off his shirt and revealed this:
I was actually disappointed with Valencia. When I first hear that they were going to play Barca this week I though that they had no chance, but then when I saw Barca actually play Valencia should have definitely won the match. But I don't think that they know how to score without Daveed Veeya. Messi wasn't really there although he did walk around the pitch or something like that. They should have scored and brought Barca off of their high horse. Rawr, I'm upset they didn't win, I even threw a pencil while watching the game, and I'm usually not violent during games, I just curse. This little team has definitely grown on me :)
Oh, and I can't forget to mention Inter completely demolishing Genoa 5-0 and Stankovich's amazing midifield volley goal.
