Finally, the real Champions League begins

United have this tendency to play great when I least expect them to. The bad thing is that they sometimes end up playing bad when I expect them to do well. But we never talk about the bad things.
When we went in to the match against Wolfsburg on Tuesday I expected them to lose 2-0. With a team of two first-team defenders, we really had no chance. 13 of the 19 players were midfielders. 13. Holy crap. Park was forced to play defense, and he is a winger, not a defender. I have to say that we did look really bad. We couldn't keep possession, but Kuszczak is my hero. He made so many great saves, he basically saved the game for us. Along with Michael Owen, Obertan was brilliant. I think it was the second goal where he beat like three defenders to make the pass to Owen, who scored.
I really can't hate Owen after he scored the winner against City and scored a hattrick to put us on top of the group. He is such a brilliant player, just not all the time. I think he has to be in a good mood or something. Basically, I think that he has been a good signing for United.
On a different note, I have no idea what we are going to do against Villa this weekend. I hope that Rooney and the Berba are fit so they can start, but defense will be a big problem. Villa are a good team, and I don't think that we will be able to get away with mediocrity again.

Liverpool were also pretty horrible today. I thought that because it was their last game in the Champions League this season they would win it, but of course they decided to prove me wrong. Torres came on for around twenty minutes and his brilliance is back. The team doesn't seem to be connecting and that bothers me a lot.
Barcelona also got away today with a 2-1 win over Dinamo Kiev. I was hoping that they won't qualify, but they are Barca after all.
I've decided to resurrect my love for German football before the World Cup, so I will start watching Bayern Munich again. I love all their players, but I haven't been watching any of the Bundesliga matches, so I've decided that I will watch at least one match every week.
